Jesus has commissioned all Christians to feed, to cloth, to care for the widows, the orphans, the thirsty, the hungry and those who are in prison.  Our missions outreach should be local, national and international in scope.

CommUNITY Church is honored to partner with the Food Pantry in feeding families in need in the Roanoke and Salem area of Southwestern Virginia.  We have been blessed with faithful givers who bring their excess each Sunday to contribute to the inventory of the Food Pantry.  Over the months we have been able to contribute hundreds of pounds of canned and boxed goods.  Jenny McCormick of the Salem Food Pantry writes:

"Last year we saw record numbers again as we continue to serve during a hard economy. In fact, the demand for our services increased 92% in the last two years. The Food Pantry served 12,192 people in 2009 up from 6319 in 2007.  Despite growing pains, we know the Lord is with us every step of the way. We are grateful that He knows our needs and uses every step of the way. Below is a list of how CommUNITY Church made a difference in many lives right here in our community.

     - Groceries   4596.5 lbs

     - Volunteers        2

     - Volunteer Hours  38

On behalf of our clients, thank you and may God bless you all during the new year."
