Coronavirus Update:

In light of the National and state of emergency we are in because of the Coronavirus pandemic, please read and share the following concerning our services scheduled for tomorrow (3/15/20):

As your Pastor, safety has always been a driving force in my leadership, even commanded of a shepherd in the Bible. Therefore, this is what we will be doing tomorrow.

First, there will be no nursery, or children’s church activities scheduled for tomorrow. Secondly, we will focus on having an online service live-streamed through our website and Facebook live from the sanctuary at 11 o’clock. If you do not know how to access this service, please reach out to me today and I will walk you through the process (540-529-7843).

If you decide to attend this service in person, please know there are limitations: if your immune system is compromised, you recently had surgery, you have travelled internationally or been around anyone that has, or you have infants, please stay home and watch online.

Our sanctuary has been sanitized and we now have hand cleaning stations at every entrance. Additionally, we will have all interior doors propped open to limit the number of surfaces you have to touch. We encourage you to take advantage of our online giving option if you stay home and if you are here in person, we will not pass the offering plate around, but will have the plates on the altar for you to drop your envelope in. And, if you do come to the church tomorrow, please do not shake hands or hug, but use verbal greetings to communicate your love; a smile and a wave still goes very far. Lastly, if you choose to come, please put a few feet of space between you and whoever you sit with to limit any exposure.

While I do not want to promote the fear our media has been propagating, I do believe we must be cautious and err on the side of safety, especially when many of our congregation are at the age of highest vulnerability.

We will have Sunday School for anyone that does show up and if needed we can combine classes with no issues.

We will continue to monitor the situation and may make some changes by next week, but will keep you all posted if that occurs. -II Tim. 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and of a sound mind.”
